Radiation Therapy

Radiation TherapyRadiation therapy is a standard cancer treatment that uses energy called ionizing radiation to damage and eventually kill cancer cells. The National Cancer Institute estimates that about half of all cancer patients are treated using radiation therapy – alone or in combination with other treatments.

There are a number of types of radiation therapy used to treat prostate cancer. The physicians of the Prostate Cancer Institute use a number of the latest and most technologically advanced radiation therapy systems so patients have access to the treatment that best suits their individual cancer cases.
